Yes! TempTalk is completely free. Sign in with your existing Google or GitHub account via Clerk and you're in — no credit card, no subscription required.

TempTalk uses Socket.IO over WebSockets to deliver messages instantly to all connected participants. There's no polling or page refresh — messages appear the moment they're sent.

When someone in the chat starts typing, all other participants see a live typing indicator with animated dots. It disappears as soon as they stop, keeping the experience natural and fluid.

If you scroll up to read older messages, TempTalk automatically tracks new messages arriving below and shows an unread count badge. Tap it to jump straight to the latest messages.
